Hungryroot has joined the nationwide movement to improve welfare for chickens by committing to the Better Chicken Commitment. As such, by 2024, we will require 100% of our Hungryroot branded chicken to be GAP-certified or GAP-aligned and processed using multi-step CAS processing.*
Currently, all Hungryroot poultry is raised with no antibiotics ever. Our merchandising team is committed to sourcing as much meat from third-party brands—including beef, pork, and poultry—raised without antibiotics. However, if you’d like to learn more, our third party brands have the most up to date sourcing info available on their sites.
*This policy applies to Hungryroot branded chicken products, and for 50% chicken composition or higher for its non-branded packaged combination food products (including soups, snacks, dairy, dressings, sauces, and similarly processed and prepared food products that are comprised of more than chicken meat with seasoning, curing agents, coloring, flavoring, preservatives, and/or similar meat additives).
