Freezing isn’t our first choice for storing food, but many items can stay fresh in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Foods that freeze well include: plant-based proteins, dairy, plant-based dairy, fresh veggies, ripe fruit, drinks, sauces, fresh grains and pastas, cookie doughs, brownie batter, and ready-to-eat soups.
If you want to freeze other foods, our chefs recommend cooking your recipe first and letting it cool down completely before freezing. For fresh veggies, it's best to blanch them before freezing. This keeps them from getting mushy later.
Some bakery items and proteins, like seafood, are pre-frozen, so we do not recommend freezing them again.
When you thaw sauces or cookie dough, you may see some separation. This is totally normal - just give it a stir.
Always thaw food in the fridge, not on the counter or in the microwave.
